  • This song hits home in a way that you could only imagine if you have never experienced it. My mom, my world, my strength was just recently diagnosed with breast cancer and she has tumors spreading through her body. I cant even put into words how scared I am. I'm not sure if I'm strong enough to watch her go through the things shes about to go through. Until I heard this song! Thank you for giving me the courage to be the son that I need to be for her. To everyone out there going through this horrible situation know that your not alone and that me and thousands of others are right here going through this with you. Hope brings strength and strength is what will lead us to victory in our fight against cancer. God bless you all and God bless you Thomas McDonald.

  • I cant even put in words how much you are appreciated this message is so powerful, im not sure if i have cancer yet but i know people who have survived and the radiation and it changed so many things about them. Money shouldn't be currency positive energy should be and if it was you and everyone else hearing this would be millionaires.

  • They gave my dad 3 months to live when he was suffering from 4 different kinds of cancer. He lasted 39 days, and the last week he continuously begged me to let him commit suicide. In the end he didn't let go till I told him to go meet his grandson that I lost 4 years earlier (non cancer related). After that I literally felt him leave his body.

  • This video is has a great message. Keep up the good work. I have another subject you could press upon....if you want to....and that is the trend of fat acceptance. This is a toxic movement and is a contributor to the high cost of health care almost as much as cancer is. Love ya' Tom!

  • Very few could of took these words and did this with them . This song very heart felt and deep, also truely motivating during hard times, he really is a versatile musician i can truly relate to this too "the struggle aspect" lyrically he expresses and covers all the major facts and aspects about cancer "other diseases/hardships subliminally" he displays and personifies the struggles complimentented with that strong chorus too "this is fuckin music!!!" great work man Tom goes there when nobody will, facts. Im 33yr straight white male and i have to admit this one was a tear jerker literally seriously the combination of song and video....its music and medicine.

  • I don't comment on your videos normally because... well, what's left to say after you. I watch, like than watch Reactions to your videos. However, this is the one that hits me the hardest because it's so very close to hm. When I was thirteen I lost my mom to cervical cancer, one week before Thanksgiving. I only found out that she had cancer that yr, turns out she new she had it 2 yrs before she got pregnant with me... she wasn't supposed to be able to even get pregnant from what the doctors told her. I was her mericle baby. During her pregnancy and for the first few months of my life had been the only time since she was 11 yrs old drug free. She wasn't perfect, but she was my mom and she was great at it for what she was going through. I am now 35 yrs old and still think of her a lot. My dad, who was also in an addictive state most of the time passed away over 2 yrs ago now oc a heart attack. He kinda just disappeared from my life after my mom passed... I always felt it was because I had my moms eyes and he had a heard time seeing them. My biological father passed about 7 yrs ago now I think. I only met him and that side of my family about 10 yrs ago... still not too close. It took FB for them to be able to contact me. Sorry for my brief life story over here, just want others to know their not alone... we all have a story and it's not always a happy one. Thanksgiving is just around the corner... yes, I am thankful for pieces of my life, but, after all these yrs it's still my least favorite holiday, but for my family I'll show to whatever gathering they want me too and bring another pie and an extra can of cranberry. Life goes on rather we want it to or not at times and eventhough we hold our loved ones in our hearts we still have to live... if not for ourselves than for the ones we have left.

  • Great song, if your name was Macklemore youd win album of the year he made one song that wasnt nearly as deep effective as this, it only applied to the LGBTQ community, & This is not even on trending anymore lmao, but you'll find a video in the top 100 about some girl making grilled cheese with a hair straightener, that's the problem people are only willing to keep these important topics alive for moments, and that's online; in person, barely anyone will talk about or do anything for these things, and yet they wonder why the world is turning to hell, instead of just liking a comment, like the idea and go out and support it and volunteer.

  • Love it! I started out on chemo so strong, that any bodily fluid was toxic, it came under same classification as mustard gas...Yet it did nothing to shrink my tumor, lost my hair, had ulcers all through my digestive tract, I was a nightmare to live with, steroids turned me into psycho bitch from hell. My prognosis wasn't looking good for cancer with no known cure...YET!! went on a trial that was pretty full on, my hair grew back, I felt well to the point of almost forgetting I had the disease invading my body, I am still here and shouldn't be...I just wish the treatment was available to all

  • My grand father died from small cell lung cancer. I still remember the day he died, i went to walk in and he refused to have me and my brother see him at his weakest. I miss him terribly but ive learned that even though he didn't want us to see him he loved us so much and we loved him just the same. I'm a survivor of multiple family suicides and friend suicide but some how tlmy grandfathers death hit me the hardest.

  • This songs means a lot. I have lived with leukemia for 8 years now. In 2012 I was diagnosed I was only 13 years of age. Got a 3 year treatment went into remission then relapsed and did a bone marrow transplant. It's fucking hard but you know what I am still blessed I have seen shit in the hospital there's a lot of people in there that would wish to be in my shoes as I have a cure. However it's a trade off. I traded cancer for osteo-necrosis and perosis I need a hip joint replacement on both my hips as almost 50% of the bone is dead so I need a titaniun/ceramic joints depends what they find better and that caused me to take oxycontin, phentolyn, morphine during that time for pain before my transplant I went into ICU due to a strong lung infection they put a strong ventilator on me and told my family pray for him when my family asked them if I would make it. And I was strong enough to pull through. Now I can't play sports live normally. Sadly there is no treatment that doesn't give you something inplace of cancer. But I'm happy to be alive! Currently on methodone because after 3 years of painkillers my body is dependent on them and methodone helps me get off that shit. Whilst pharmaceuticals make plenty of money but I'm blessed to be in a country called Jordan that has a full insurance for me! I didn't have to make my family go broke.

  • I just lost my grandmother last month to cancer. She battled hardcore for the last 2 years. We shared the same birthday, and she was the nicest person you'd ever meet. I gave the eulogy at her funeral, something I thought I'd never do as just 9 years ago I had such bad anxiety and agoraphobia I wouldn't even leave the house. I still feel her, and I still can't believe she's physically gone. My whole family got a real good look at the medical industry during this time. Some were angels, most were useless, and so many crucial mistakes were made by them that I truly believe had she been under better medical care, she would still be here. If you or someone you know ever has the misfortune of coming down with cancer; do not mess around. Go to the best hospital you can, see the best doctors you can, and use alternative medicine + conventional, not just conventional. Tom, keep doing your thing man. You're one of the best, and Nova is amazing. Power team!
