  • Help. I’m a new baker and I have always wanted to make a gingerbread house from scratch. I followed the instructions to the letter (for the house, not the cookies ... using the vegetable shortening). It came off the stove darker than the video. The dough was very greasy but crumbly as soon as it was cool enough to touch. I couldn’t roll it out. Any advice?

  • URGENT! If you are making this recipe make sure to turn off the heat before you incorporate the flour! It is written in the written recipe but for some reason unmentioned in the video! If you do not do so your batter will turn out oily and impossible to work with! I hope everyone learns from this and I hope this helps!

  • Know no one will read this but heres an easy gingerbread house frosting recipie 1 tsp vinegar essence 1 egg white 4 dL powder sugar Whisk the egg white and as the vinegar Essence. Then add the powdered sugar bit by bit, and then it’s ready to pipe ( note, it hardens pretty quick once it leaves piping bag )

    • A lot people use regular egg whites instead of pasteurized in the icing, so you can’t eat it. If you want to eat it, use pasteurized egg whites (they come in a carton.) This eliminates the chance of food poisoning.
