About the game:
Satisfactory is a new game from Coffee Stain Studios, the creators of Goat Simulator and the Sanctum series. Satisfactory is a game of factory management and planet exploitation. As an engineer working for FICSIT Inc., you are dropped onto an alien planet with a handful of tools and must harvest the planet's natural resources to construct increasingly complex factories for automating all your resources needs. After you are set up, it will be time to build the Space Elevator and begin Project Assembly, supplying FICSIT with increasingly numerous and complex components for their unknown purposes.
The main focus of the game lies in constructing buildings and linking them together with Conveyor Belts so that your factory can handle the entire process of item construction for you, including mining, transport, delivery, and generating power to keep itself running. More advanced engineers will precisely adjust their buildings' clock speed to maximize efficiency.

  • Hi!... Like the former user Dan... Im also blown away that you even have acomplished it, ..because the ground is so various.. Im starting build a two deck level here now in grassland, exactly there you are.. -And YOU had, me for the leveling, put out tons of foundation to make all lined up.. If not all leveling up (or down), some parts "will" be a little bit lower or higher with the conveyor etc.. and outside foundations!! -Tons of work you have done.. GOOD WORK.. Im so yellous right now at your map... Before I started to remap all.. everything was like a spider-net.. so frustrating... And you´r going to tell yourself that not to build so close to eachother.. but wath happening.. It still come to a point (if you´r exploring and upgrading) that you decide that you have to have a new constructor or something else nearby, and there we are again.. closer and closer.. and so bad.. more spider-net.. haha.. -No lag.. yes.. thanks to the unreal engine for that... it´s the best engine ever!! -And this is a FANTASTIC game.. I hope they develop it much more.. because Im hooked!! Greetings from Sweden

  • Thanks for the pipe bend trick!!! Little bit of trivia, 90 degree angles on pipes require more energy usage to pump whatever through them so its best (in the real world) if pipes have gentle curves. Btw, pumps consume about 10 percent of the electricity on the planet.

  • I am so pissed off right now. Yesterday i spent like 9 hours building my coal generated base, with 18 coal generators and a lot of tubes. Being the precision maniac i am i wanted it all to be as geometrically precise as possible, and now after finishing i see this? I AM SO DONE. Thank you for the tip btw, keep it up with the great videos.

  • I'm new to these videos so sorry if you've answered this before, but why are there still spitters when you're this far along? One of the very first things I did in the game was clear out all the hostile mobs. It seems like they'd just be a nuisance and enemies are all really easy to take out in this game (They're all either dodge swing, dodge swing or run, slide, swing swing run, slide, swing swing depending if they charge or spit)

    • @Asheira Yeah but like I've killed every enemy I've seen on long treks and then when I've gone past 5 hours later to upgrade an outpost or something there are no enemies along the way. I'll try repairing my install or something I guess?

    • Weird, maybe my game is bugged then. I've played about 100 hours and haven't had any enemies respawn.

    • What Zesty Seal said, they respawn if no structures are placed anywhere nearby. I'm not 100% sure what items can prevent respawn, I usually just drop a black trussblock foundation after clearing a spot.

  • For the supension pieces, you can rotate the top part to follow vertical curves better. Mouse wheel before the 2nd click when placing them. Less flopping when going up or down in hypertubes.

  • Just recently I remapped crouch/slide from c to shift, turned on toggle run and made the run button "T" Took a minute to get used to the change, but having slide on shift with toggle run is the best thing ever. Super easy to do the slide jump.

    • I don't mean to burst your bubble, but it's just 408 nodes total. It is still very impressive to have all this in 3D and they're not even done optimizing yet. I feel the most laggy thing now is NPC's attacking / pathing.

    • @Luke Thompson Yes, I was just messing around. I'm a neat freak as well and have had others jokingly say I have OCD (It definitely annoys anyone who isn't as neat). I enjoyed seeing that he has the same level of freakishness.

    • I'm sure you're just messing around, but OCD is actually a pretty nuanced disorder. Wanting everything to be in place is related, but OCD is more like when you can't leave your house because you're worried the oven is on, even though you've checked 17 times. That's just one example, but the point is, wanting everything to be neat and clean is not the same thing as OCD, not even close.

  • the in game bunny hop is intended as noted by many discord members of satisfactories discord, and by the devs themselves. the thing about it, is that you can get more acceleration, jump height and in turn move faster. without the blade runners you wouldnt be able to jump that one high jump unless you bunny hopped, and with the bunny hop strats you could. either way, better learn about it now compared to later.

  • @Thorgal the purpose of the 2D option is to use the least possible number of pipe segments. If you compare the build cost of each option you'll quickly notice the softer curves make for a MUCH costlier build.

  • What do you do with all the mats that are coming to your base? Just watching videos like this with over 5 belts high of mats coming from all over the place overwhelms me. Do you just make ingots for them first or do you connect them to a production line right away?

  • I've played Satisfactory for a couple of years and am getting to a point in update 3 where my factories are getting quite large (i.e. massive Turbo Fuel power plant). Even though I generally like to do my own factory designs, I've periodically watched a couple of guys that do some pretty nice work. In doing so, I can't believe that, for what every reason, I haven't seen any of your NLworld vids...until today! As I was killing some time before jumping back into my own factory build, I found this video and thoroughly enjoyed it. I honestly didn't think I would watch a 55 minute video, but I'm really glad I did! Not only do your factories look incredible, I also found your humble manner of speaking and natural excitement in anticipation of firing up the factory to be quite fun and enjoyable. Thanks for causing me to smile! I'm a new fan! :D

  • With Pipe Poles (the standard stands) you can also tilt them backwards and forwards before you click the first time, where you will then rotate them. You can use Conveyor 2D build mode to made perfect, tight 90 degree inclines/declines. :D Also, you can stack hyper tube entrances to get an insane speed boost in your hyper tubes. I put 10 in a row and I can get to the other side of the map in 3 seconds. REALLY useful to tilt the tubes and get 10 entrances to essentially launch you in to the air, using your jetpack to slow you down before you hit the ground, or change direction mid air, etc etc

  • 2 Options for the Framedrops, 1. the amount of belts lower the Framerate, because every ore will be rendert, 2. could be you entering a new section of the map, and it loads all the stuff of this section. One more point that could happend is the Save freeze, that depends on what timesettings you have it, normaly it set on 20 min. Hope you understand what i mean. ( sorry for that bad english) Greetings from Austria. :)

    • Your English is solid :) I believe you're correct about the frame rate drop. Seems tied to belts more than anything. Reducing the amount of belts by using high speed belts would probably eliminate frame drops. I think he likes the look of all the belts coming in though.

  • And you really can jump far with the Blade Runners with the run + slide + jump method. If you have the exosuit mod, you can jump caverns. I didn't know about the different build modes

  • This game really need a way to disable collision detection. There are so many places that it stops you from placing things, where they are not actually colliding with things, or where you purposely want things to collide, for cosmetics.

  • You can build more compact if you come out of the smelters with a lift, joining them into a merger at 90-deg, which is then lifted down to another merger and then lifted back up to a final merger. You use 90-deg connections, to all the mergers, so it remains as close to the smelters as possible. Gives you more room to play around with the connections and keeps everything off the ground, so you can run around without having them on platforms. Also, This works in production too, but you get a bonus where you can put the third set of lifts back inside, towards the machines, without that stupid collision issue. (The smelters will collide with the lifts, if you try to put them on the inside of the "stack", but it isn't a big issue. You can also pre-calculate for them by adding a gap between every fourth smelter, to fit the last lift.)

  • Another tip, for conveyors... If you don't like the funny semi-sharp angles, on a curve. Just find a 1/3 spot away from any joint and place a conveyor merger or a splitter. Then, get rid of the odd, sharp, corner and then remove both splitters/mergers and just re-connect the line for a better curve transition. Repeat as needed. Also, if your game is chugging away, testing the limits of your graphics-card and going into low-LOD mode rather close to your view. Just remove all the supports that are holding-up your conveyors. They are high-poly, and honestly not needed at all. They don't make the game look any more realistic. In reality, conveyors need supports every 4-8 feet. Also, if you have, for some reason, connected short lengths between these supports, you should delete those tiny line segments and replace them with a single segment. (I see you use a lot of ladder-layouts, which looks like you may have bridged connections across each support. Each segment is a new database "cell", which has to be calculated for conveyor movement. If you have less, there is less cells to "move through", as the game calculates conveyor line movement of individual items.) Also, covering your lines with walls and floors, will also speed-up the game. It will not try to draw each item in detail, if it can't be seen. Though it may look cool, you get over that, as you start making thousands of machines and you just want the game to run, without turning into a slide-show or having production "glitches", as it is trying to calculate all those broken segment conveyors.

  • The slide/jump is a math error. They calculate your "velocity", but the "jump" is lower than normal, so the calculation (normally done from your head/body), is further from that point when you are in "slide" mode, on the ground. As well as your forward velocity, which is accelerated as you slide forward faster than when you are just running forward. (You jump further and higher, due to bad math.)

  • Just adding what's meant to be constructive criticism: To save yourself countless hours of rework, space usage, and other utilizations/optimizations, do yourself the favor of growing your skill tree as fast as possible... It's much better to have things laid out for the future than fighting yourself when those things come. Also, at 26:37, if you didn't already know, you can jump on the sky-stingray's back and have him fly you all over the map. Useful for exploring and getting some pretty good visuals/screengrabs. Otherwise, awesome build you've got going here! 👍

    • Expanded inventory alone from the M.A.M is a godsend. (Along with the Color Gun to help organize your sprawling sections!) But yes the higher tech trees make it SO much easier to plan & build!

  • Your aesthetics are amazing, nice work. I do not have the discipline to do central smelting, tend to do it at the mine site and then just belt ingots. But yours is so cool, thank you for spending the time creating all that belt porn.

    • 5353Jumper both have their advantages and disadvantages, for example your approach reduces the amount of entities in one place and improves the Performance of the game, while he just has everything in one place. I personally do also prefer to just have the ingots coming in so all i need to care about is which ressources i need to turn them into.

  • I love the addition of the signs and how you used them along with the decoration bits. I wonder if there's a QoL mod that adds pottet plants. Not quite sure why those 18 new belts running along the ground have 3 corners instead of just 1 corner somewhat further out? |__ | |__ vs |______ (I hope YT formatting maintains this graphic) I love the series and your building style, it looks very realistic.

    • Actually had another idea that might be cool for these corners: | | [ ] -- -- From the line coming out the building, at the end ( [ ] where the corner would be), add a lift with the minimum height that turns 90° then continue with a straight belt.

  • Hey Thorgal, the cross bars are called "ribs". Hope that helps! I'm new to this game, what is the end goal??? I work at both a recycling center and a grocery store. I have in the past, been a Miner. So I know a fair bit about basic machinery, lol!

    • End goal is really to just use as much of the world as you can, maximize the hardest items like super computer and turbo motor, and then make it all pretty. There is no real end goal other than personal goals yet. Once the game is fully released maybe there will be an actual goal built in, something to do with SAM ore, and spheres which currently have no use.
