Side-lined F1 driver Nico Hulkenberg was touted as one of the favourites for the second Red Bull seat. He then confirmed that he had initiated talks with the team. However, things have been static for some time and Hulkenberg has now provided an update on Red Bull’s Servus TV

0:00 - Hulkenberg’s Red Bull Talks Have Gone Cold
1:15 - Fast Feed
I'm your host Dillon Shelley and first up on Formula World:
Hulkenberg’s Red Bull Talks Have Gone Cold
He started off by explaining how he has done everything he can
“Of course, I hope for a good return in the future, but there is nothing else to report. The cards are laid. I had my two [race] chances and used them as good as I could”
He added that he is still in contact with the people that matter
“I'm not actively involved now anyway, but of course I'm in contact with the people that matter. But not every week now, not every day. I let it come to me. I am quite relaxed. It's not in my hands”
He further stated the need for patience
“That's why I am on standby, so to speak. And of course, I hope that there will be a comeback and a chance, which I would be very motivated and keen to do. But we just need a little patience until the final decision is made”
He summed up his words by saying that it will be some time before any sort of clarity is reached
“It is very, very quiet at the moment. The reports have calmed down a bit, and I think it will be a while before there is really any final clarity”

Fast Feed
Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton feels that “unfortunately, people don't get to see all” the “work in the background”
He also revealed that he sometimes goes “to the wind tunnel and” asks “the chief of aerodynamics to show” him “the car”
He also asks him to share “what the problems and obstacles are” as he finds “that work fascinating”
Prince Khalid Bin Sultan Al Faisal of Saudi Arabia doesn’t “blame those people” who criticize his country “because they have never been to Saudi Arabia”
He added that they “are opening up” their “country so that more people can see” their “beautiful country and hopefully that will change their minds”
He further stated that they “want a street circuit with a fantastic view, but also the possibility to overtake”
Angelo Sticchi Damiani, the President of the Automobile Club of Italy has confirmed that they “would like to organise two Formula 1 races in Italy in 2021”
He further elaborated that “in addition to the Grand Prix on the Monza circuit, which has already been confirmed”, they “are also trying to get Imola on the calendar”
Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel finds it “shocking really that” they “still need to keep this sort of message” regarding equality “out because it should be completely normal”
He further explained that “there's been so much history of mankind and so many mistakes that mankind has done and yet we struggle to learn from our mistakes”
McLaren’s Lando Norris feels that “in sport, because no one wants to give the opposition an edge or show any weakness”, they “don’t talk about mental health as much as” they “should”
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner thinks that “the team has grown so much but at the end of the day” they “are still the same: a racing team”

Would you like to see 2 race in Italy next season?

  • What I hope/expect to see next year: Haas: Schumacher (because of his name and good results in F2) with Mazepin (daddy’s cash) AT: Gasly and Tsunoda (because Honda forced them to take Tsunoda) RB: Verstappen and Hulkenberg “Why not Perez?” you may ask. Perez is a great driver and he really showed that in the last few races, but: - Perez does not accept that he would automatically be the second driver at Red Bull (he mentioned that during an interview recently and RB doesn’t want that kind of driver; they want a “Bottas”) - he clashes with competitive teammates (for example Ocon, there is a whole video about that from 2017 on the F1 channel) - he ignores Teamorders (also in the mentioned video) And as a last reason: he does not have the character to promote the Red Bull brand (not really active on social media/does only post things which are related to F1; not known for doing active interesting sports - he mentioned that he likes golfing, yoga and football)

  • RB and all the teams need to think hard. Ideally, whoever they want for 2022 and beyond would have to be there next year. Otherwise there would be not enough time for the driver to get used to new car + new rules. It would be crazy to knowingly sign a stop gap driver for just 2021.

  • Depends what tracks they use. Mugello > Imola They need the tracks where there's a mad slipstream on at least one straight and wide tracks where there are multiple lines. As an Aussie it's hard to say, but I hope they remove Melbourne (or at least improve it), and also Barcelona, Russia, Singapore, Abu Dhabi. Keep Paul Ricard as long as they remove the chicane for the long straight. Maybe use the Moto GP version of Barcelona too.

  • It’s so ridiculous that hulkenberg is a candidate for that seat considering he has blown every single chance he has ever had to get a podium. How in the world is he more qualified than Perez who might finish 4th in points this year? Why because he’s a fan favorite? He’s only a favorite because everyone feels bad for him since he’s never gotten that podium. He doesn’t deserve that seat.

I think the journalist's name was Kashoggi and he had the temerity to criticize the Human rights record of Saudi Arabia so of course, the only answer to that would be to lure him to the Embassy or wait until he has to visit himself then have a squad of your personal murdering goons grotesquely murder him in cold blood and butcher his body like an animal. I have never visited Saudi either so of course, I have no knowledge of it because we all know you cannot have any knowledge of any country unless you have visited it.

  • I somewhat agree with Vettel that we shouldn't be talking about equality, but, because I am sick of hearing it, if you want equality why is Hamilton looking to get £120mil over the next few years and the other drivers won't, and before you go saying the arrogant sod has won all that crap so deserves, they are talking about equality not me, cannot say be equal them run after a pay thats 120 times more that say Russel gets. And if you say it's about diversity type equality, then look and the huge variations of people working in the paddock, and Ham keeps bleating on about BLM, when BLM has nothing to do with UK, this is an American matter not an F1 matter, if he thinks there's not enough black people in F1, then he can go and forcebly train people to qualify for the jobs, you cannot stick someone in a job just because of skin colour, if there isn't any qualified then they don't in. And if F1 is so racist how is Ham still there getting away with his BLM everyone must kneel or they'll get fingers pointed at them crap, I didn't see him kneeling for all those women who lost their jobs as Grid Girls ? they wanted that work, even entering competitions to be there, but nope some Karen thought it was degrading and got them all fired.
