  • I haven't seen Bruce in person but I love him and am so happy for him to be with his friends again, he reminds me of my babies, I have a pair Pomeranian Saddleback geese and a pair of Chinese swan geese, there friendly and curious, like to get into trouble, and love their ponds. There busy nesting right now, I am really hoping some eggs hatch, I love goslings.

  • I've been following your videos on geese farming for a long time now, and got so motivated that I finally got myself a pair of lovely 3 week old gooselings along with a few brahma chicks... Got to say, finding geese to purchase in my country was no easy task, they were with me at my temporary residence for two weeks but unfortunately they didn't survive a trip to my more permanent residence when I was relocating to the North, the people who took charge of the livestock transport seriously mishandled them (the even claimed that they were ducks till I opened their bills)... I'm now here once again to motivate myself so when next I save up, I'll try getting three gooseling or even fully matured geese if possible... I really appreciate your videos, they're wonderful...

  • Hello from Bennington! We're in the same boat with the bees, our supplier was two weeks behind because of the rough winter that they had down south. Even with the delay, we had a cold snap right after installing the bees three weeks ago so it's probably best to order them for mid-late May in the Green Mountains. One tip we learned: remove the two medium boxes and give the colony their first few weeks in just the deep box. Our bees started building comb & laying eggs in the middle box first, so development might be a little bit slower since those are smaller frames. First time learning opportunities I suppose! Good luck with yours! Bruce looks happy to have his ladies!

  • Just a tip: plant some flowers around the beehives or in the near vicinity, maybe behind the fence so the birds don't trample them. I'm a bit scared the bees won't have a lot of nectar, and won't make a lot of honey for their survival. Great video, and good luck to your farm! ^-^

  • With BEES... you ought to overseed the rows between your trees with Vermont's State Flower... Red Clover . Consider spreading some New England Asters, Hairy Whitd Oldfield Asters, Toadflax, Bluebells, Wild Bergamot and Rudbekias ... (ALL NATIVE TO VERMONT) Even a few clumps of Milkweed(Monarch Butterflies host plant + Bee Nectar) and Sunchokes (Jerusalem Artichokes)..a type of Sunflower. Sunflowers are native to North America. Elderberry & Solidago (Goldenrod)... Bees need feed.. Good luck!!

  • Hi I just discovered your channel 3 days ago, so I am doing binge watching your videos and I am enjoying them alot, when I was a kid growing up I lived on the farm I remember my mother grew stinging netl around the barn and near the orchard and she used it to feed the ducks and the geese with it I remember they loved it, do some reserch on the stinging netle maybe that's something you could grow around the barn for them to eat but be careful use rubber gloves while handling that stuff it stings and burns your skin

  • I’m surprised you were surprised that Bruce and his ladies recognized each other after six months. Birds, right? They depend on their flock and all the individuals in it. Many birds migrate thousands of miles annually relying on the good spots they remember to stop for food, water, shelter. They return home, often to an exact remembered location to nest. The philosophers of the early 1700s liked to attribute these characteristics to the concept that animals are little automatic machines, an idea whose time had already passed a good 200 years ago. Clearly as you observe daily, your animals have intelligence, emotions, memory, politics, social structures. That is not to say I won’t eat a cracking good Christmas goose! Bruce, I’m looking at you fella!
